Growing Meconopsis
The section about growing Meconopsis was quite different. It was not primarily a display of plants, but consisted of information panels, with their content illustrated by plants and plant material.

The left-hand side was about the whole life cycle of Meconopsis plants, from sowing seed to pricking out, potting on, flowering, production of capsules and finally to seed production. In front of it were samples of the components of seed compost.

At the right-hand side the process of vegetative propagation was explained, again with samples of potting compost in front.

At the back and along the right-hand division were illustrations of where Meconopsis plants grow in the wild, covering both distribution and habitats,

Finally, the centre/front part was concerned with conservation, with examples of plants that are rare in cultivation, and a few photographs of plants that are cultivated, but not available for showing.

These four parts are illustrated individually below.
